Yep my uplink is throttled to 1.5MB/s - Hence it works fine for me. Download on the other hand - roughly 9MB/s at present.
In theory the Banana Pi mentoined in this thread should be capable of much higher transfer rates if you put the drive straight onto sata.
Haven't tried one personally, as my next micro pc will be a new release product far more powerful than both raspberry and banana pi - but costs more-stay tuned.
The Pi is adequate for my use and uses much less electricity than a full blown PC so far cheaper to run 24/7.
edit. Oh @http://www.torrent-invites.com/member.php?u=100366 - Have you ever checked the data transfer rate on that 1G banana pi ethernet while the pi is doing other stuff? - I think you'll get a nasty shock.
