Seedbox Discussions Has anyone been successful streaming a High Bit rate file from Dedi\seedbox?

I guess what I am trying to find out is it possible to have a dedicated server with enough bandwidth to flawlessly stream a lossless HIgh Bitrate mkv file 3D, ISO, etc to your HTPC or media player? When I say media player I don't mean VLC, Media PLayer Classic Etc...The media players I am talking about is those that have built in 3D and HD Chipsets like the ones you hook up to your TV. I currently own a high end media player and can flawlessly play Full 3D iso, mkv, etc through a wired connection to my home NAS. It would be nice to just map a drive or vpn into the seedbox or vice versa and just play everything from the seedbox without having to download and at the same time, encrypt it it while streaming it to your home. I heard about Plex and it does an ok job but what I am looking for is something more Home Theatre style like XBMC with video wall. What do you guys think? I live in the US and would probably think that a server close to around here would probably do the trick. Do you think a server in Europe could do the trick even with a I7 32GB ram? How fast does your connection at home have to be to be able to stream a large 1080p file with lossless audio/video? I don't think it's possible? At least not yet?

Well, I was able to stream a 720p file lossless video and audio from my VPS at EVo Datacenter but it would buffer alot durring certain evening hours everyday. I'm still looking for a server with good hardware (At least an I7) and a datacenter (Probably OVH canada) thats closer. I just cant find any resellers that resell OVH canada without paying huge bucks.

Try http://www.serviio.org/ .

I have that -> https://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/fs_24To.xml
I stream 1080p mkv without issue (tablet, phone, computer, dlna device).
I don't live in France, I live on an island far away.
Home Connection Speed : 17573 kbps (dl).

Serviio is very easy to setup and transcoding is better than Plex.

pp: I hate 3D, so I never tried, but if you are interested -> http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7945
